5 things to consider before choosing your wedding signs

Location

Where are you going to display them?

This will help you decide on a size and shape. Think about placement and consider the type of space you intend on displaying. You don’t want a small Welcome sign in a really huge space. Nor do you want a huge sign in a cramped area. When you visit your venue, scout out the best locations to show off each type of sign. A top tip would be, when you visit your venue, take lots of pictures and videos. This will also help with other styling elements too.

How you’re going to display

What are you using?

Will you be using a metal frame to hang your signage? Or will you display on an easel? Or maybe you're propping on the floor with other decor items. Consider the different types of materials and what colours they may be. You will also need to consider the background. If you have clear acrylic, you don't want to place your signage right in front of a fire extinguisher or something just as ugly! But if you have a large (non see through) wooden sign, this might conceal it nicely!

Material

Which material will compliment your look?

Recycled acrylic is a more modern piece and adapts seamlessly to it's surroundings, with either a clear or frosted background. As suggested above, be mindful of the display behind but if you add flowers into the mix, your acrylic signage can let both design elements speak. Acrylic can work in many venues but I would steer more towards wooden signage if you are in a barn style venue.

Paper goods

Do you want to match with your invites?

Matching your on the day signage isn't essential, but I would recommend keeping a few key elements the same. Use similar complimenting colour tones and don't mix too many statement fonts together. Everything will then tie in seamlessly on the day.

Budget

How much do you have to spend on decor?

Wedding signs make gorgeous keepsakes and can really enhance your venue, but if your budget only allows for a few pieces, then you don't HAVE to have it all! Decide which pieces you love the most or which pieces are essential (think table plans, directional signs & menus) and go from there. It's your day!
